China Lake Loon Count: July 18

The Annual Loon Count on China Lake is part of the statewide count coordinated by the Maine Audubon Society on the third Saturday of every July since 1984.  This year, the Audubon Society is continuing to improve its new digital portal for data entry.  For the most part, the count will be done by volunteers with pen and paper, the same way we have done it for the past 37 years.

This year's loon count takes place from 7-7:30 a.m. on July 18th. New loon counters are always needed, so if you are interested in volunteering for this year’s count, contact Bob O'Connor, the China Lake Loon Count Coordinator, at 207-445-4140.
